Patrick Macias is current editor-in-chief of Otaku USA magazine and has been published since the age of 19 and has covered everything within the Asian cinema spectrum. He has become the authority on Japanese cult cinema in the western world and has written several popular titles including Fresh Pulp: Dispatches from the Japanese Pop Culture Front (1997-1999), TokyoScope: The Japanese Cult Film Companion, Cruising The Anime City: An Otaku Guide To Neo Tokyo and Japanese Schoolgirl Inferno: Tokyo Teen Fashion Subculture Handbook.
Along with his own printed work, Macias has been featured in the San Francisco Chronicle, the San Francisco Examiner, the Bay Guardian, the Chicago Sun-Times, and Wired magazine. He has also written liner notes for DVDs released by companies such as Home Vision Entertainment, BCI/Eclipse and that most respected of lines: The Criterion Collection.
