About Jon Jung

Jon Jung (aka “Coffin Jon”) is the producer and host of the VCinema podcast and editor-in-chief of the VCinema blog. He contributed several essays to World Film Locations: Tokyo (Intellect, 2011). Jon lives in San Francisco, but wishes he was back in Japan where he lived for seven years.

VCinema Listener Review Contest

As many of you may remember or have learned from listening to our past episodes, we prompted listeners to write in with their own reviews of Asian films, whether ones discovered through our podcast or their own.  The grand prize of this contest was a package that included several DVDs, a signed copy of episode 5 guest Patrick Macias’ book, Tokyoscope (pictured left), and various goofy Japanese things.  The grand prize winner, as we mentioned in episode 11, was Greg T.

Now, the big question is: what did we do with all of those contest entries?  Did we publish them all into a book to help fund the VCinema orphanage we’re planning?  Did we use them to wipe the tears of angels sent to fight the holy war?  Did we just delete them off our hard drive?  No, we still have them and over the next several days, we will be posting them here on the site for your reading pleasure so, while VCinema is taking a break to make some necessary improvements, you can still count on us (and our contest entrants) for Asian film talk.
