RoboGeisha DVD/Blu-Ray Out in North America Next Week

You may have already put your Halloween costume away and made a large pot of pumpkin stew (with a faint taste of candle wax) already, but anime distributor FUNimation wants to keep the freak show going with its latest release, RoboGeisha, which is due to hit the streets next week on DVD and Blu-Ray.

Starring Aya Kiguchi, Naoto Takenaka, Hitomi Hasebe and written and directed by Noboru Iguchi , RoboGeisha promises to continue along the gory, absurdist lines set by Iguchi’s 2008 splatathon, The Machine Girl.  The synopsis is as follows:

Kikuyakko is a geisha known for her glamour and grace.  Yoshie is her abused sister, banished to the shadows.  When a mysterious corporation transforms their soft bodies into murderous machines, the rival vixens rush toward an ultraviolent final confrontation.

Can you say, “There will be blood”?

RoboGeisha will be on sale at your local DVD retailer on November 16th, 2010.

As an added bonus (and if you can read Japanese), you can also follow RoboGeisha herself (itself?) on Twitter!
